MySpace Angles and related (mis)representations
I can’t quite explain why I find this article on First Monday so fascinating. It’s an indepth look at “MySpace Angles” and the dialogue that surrounds them (although I’d question whether Urban Dictionary define trends. Unless bad spelling is a trend now). The surprising part is that the author ignores the misogny in the responses to this ‘deception’. This despite using only female portraits to illustrate the article and quoting some quite extreme commentary. Still, I remain intrigued by the theory of social network portraiture.
